What are the most popular first dance wedding songs?

According to the Performing Rights Society (published 28 July 2009) Lonestar’s 1999 ‘Amazed’ is the number 1 first dance song. It’s Lonestar’s longest-lasting Number One single and biggest crossover hit, spending eight weeks at the top of the singles charts.

Personally we went for Bobby Darin’s 1946 interpretation of “La Mer” by Charles Trenet, Beyond the Sea.

Here’s the top five….

  1. Lonestar - Amazed
  2. Aerosmith - Don’t Want To Miss A Thing
  3. Shania Twain - From This Moment On
  4. Bryan Adams - Everything I do (I Do It For You)
  5. Take That - Rule The World

For those of you who might be interested here are the lyrics:

Every time our eyes meet
This feeling inside me
Is almost more than I can take
Baby when you touch me
I can feel how much you love me
And it just blows me away
I’ve never been this close to anyone or anything
I can hear your thoughts
I can see your dreams

I don’t know how you do what you do
I’m so in love with you
It just keeps getting better
I want to spend the rest of my life
With you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby, I’m amazed by you

The smell of your skin
The taste of your kiss
The way you whisper in the dark
Your hair all around me
Baby you surround me
You touch every place in my heart
Oh, it feels like the first time, every time
I want to spend the whole night in your eyes

Chorus

Solo

Every little thing that you do
I’m so in love with you
It just keeps getting better
I want to spend the rest of my life
With you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby, I’m amazed by you
