Changes and updates for 2012 – New Memory Gate Blog

So far it has been a busy start for Memory Gate in 2012 as not only have we photographing babies and families but we have also been working on developing the business.
Top of our list of new year resolutions was to blog more and to share more pictures. We are photographers after all so I suppose it just makes sense to share as many images as we can!
There will be lots of new and fun things happening one of which is the development of our new blog which will be at http://www.memorygate.co.uk/blog
Rather than lots of different places to find out about us we are putting it all in one place. The new blog will include not only baby and family portrait images but also weddings and other projects.
Another resolution that was very near the top of the list was sharing content on Facebook. If you are not already then visit www.facebook.com/memorygate and like our page. We’ll be sharing almost regular content which I hope will be either amusing, helpful or perhaps both.
There are lots of other things we have planned but you’ll have to wait!
Chris and Clare’s wedding at South Lodge Hotel West Sussex

Our last wedding of the year was Chris and Clare’s big day at St Michael’s Church in Betchworth, Surrey with the reception at South Lodge Hotel in West Sussex.

During the evening reception we set-up a ‘photo-booth’ which certainly kept us amused throughout the night! These image are all available on our Facebook Page. Feel free to tag and share!

Wedding at Denbies wine estate Dorking

Yesterday’s we attended Kioni and Ian’s wedding at Denbies Vineyard in Dorking which followed a ceremony at Christchurch CofE in Wimbledon. The weather managed to hold out long enough for us to have a quick run around the wine estate and explore the cellars.

Denbies wine estate Dorking

The Denbies wine estate in Dorking covers 265 acres is the UK’s largest single estate vineyard. As a wedding venue it offers amazing scenery and a backdrop of not only the vineyard but of Boxhill as well.
Rooms
The Garden Room is favourably positioned between the courtyard and the Conservatory, perfect for civil ceremonies, drinks receptions & evening parties.
The Conservatory can accommodate up to 200 guests for the wedding breakfast, guests will be welcomed by the flowing central fountain and tropical plants creating a relaxed atmosphere for dining.
The Cellar offers an atmospheric candlelit and unique romantic destination for pre- reception drinks or wine tasting.
Denbies is one of the first wine estates in the world to give visitors of all ages a unique and fascinating insight into all aspects of the wine producing process, all year round, with indoor and outdoor tours and tasting. The flint-clad chateau-style building hosts two restaurants; the indoor Garden Conservatory and the third floor Gallery Restaurant providing spectacular views of the estate, together with a diversely stocked wine and gift shop.

Example Wedding Storybook Layouts
July 26th, 2011To help you visualise some possible layouts for your wedding storybook we have put together some example page spreads.
If you are referencing these pages then have a look at the first slide to give you some pointers.
When it comes to designing your book there are a number of different ways we can customize each design to your tastes.
For a little inspiration have a look at these three styles.
Creative Style
The style is inspired by every little detail of your wedding. Backgrounds are created from the impressive architecture of your venue and the smallest details captured. Your images can be framed in unique boarders to emphasize their individual character and charm.
Why not include notes from your guest book or your order of ceremony? These can be blended into the background to make each page a treasure hunt for even the tiniest detail.
The complexity of each page is up to you, but what we aim to create is a finished storybook that you’ll love to revisit and rediscover again and again.
Contemporary Style
Modern, clean and of course contemporary.
This style really lets the images do the talking. The key to this design concept is simplicity with perfectly composed pages that flow seamlessly into each other.
Concept Style
Modern storybook making these days really has no limits…… just like your wedding!
Your ‘Green wedding’ can be printed on 100% recycled paper or your Fairy-Tail wedding immortalized in textured cream parchment with torn edges and a Nepalese paper cover.
Or how about a fine hand antiqued leather cover with cream felt paper uniquely old world hand stitched?

Laura and Nick’s Wedding at Hartsfield Manor
